At Ruddy’s Place we believe that everyone has the potential to succeed in achieving their goals and be active contributing members of their community. We work hard to ensure that our programs are individualized , fun, safe, and opportunities for friendship and community building.

Ruddy’s Place is for young adults who have developmental disabilities. At Ruddy’s Place we will be focusing on helping young adults learn independent living skills. Some of these skills include: money management, cooking, transportation, daily living skills, shopping, organizational skills and community safety. At Ruddy’s Place our goal is to help these young adults be as independent and active in the community as possible.

Ruddy’s Place will offer a job readiness program. This program will include learning foundational skills about obtaining and working in various job environments that the participant is interested in. Participants will be taught how to write a resume, interview skills, and social skills for managing in a work environment. From there we will pair the participant up with an employer as well as a mentor from Ruddy’s Place to support the individual in developing independence within the job. Ruddy’s Place will be in a home which will help participants generalize skills they learn to their home or future independent living.

Ruddy’s Place also offers family support services these services are for children and youth of all ages with special needs and their families. The family support program includes family counselling, 1:1 counselling for child or parent, behavior consultation and social skills groups for children and youth
