At Ruddy’s Place we offer a wide range of programs that are catered to the individual. Independent Living skills At Ruddy’s Place we encourage independent living. Every client has a different skill set and we help them strengthen their skills and learn new ones! It is important to remember that everyone is an important member of our community and brings something unique. We work on basic life skills and living skills such as:

  • Money Management and Financial Planning
  • Cooking, meal prep and grocery shopping
  • Public Transportation
  • Household Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Job Readiness

    Along with Independent living skills, job readiness is an important part of integration into the community. Having a job will help our clients establish their independence and help strengthen their skill set.

  • Strategies for on the job anxiety/stress
  • Strategies for impulse control/focus

    Once participants have found a job they will be assigned a Mentor who will support them at their job placement while they get adjusted. They will help them with adapting and training the participant on the job, ensure accommodations are in place for them to succeed, and working with participant to ensure the skills that the participant learnt in the job readiness program transfers to the job site.

    Community Integration

    Community Integration is important for young adults. Their personal safety and how they are perceived in the community may discourage many from going out and living their best life. At Ruddy’s Place we encourage them to explore and experience their community through supervised activities. Safety is important at Ruddy’s Place. Before going out into the community we make sure that all our clients are ready, and confident and safe in their environment.
